Limestone pavement above Lopučniška dolina in Triglav National Park. Although the density of the vegetation on the area of Lopučniška dolina there are spaces without or less vegetation with visible limestone pavement. Limestone pavement is a surface that was made up of clints and grikes (also grykes). Clints are the blocks of limestone that are the base of the paving. The density, the shape and the size of clints is dependant upon the frequency and pattern of grikes. Grikes are empty spaces - the fissures that isolate the individual clints.
Grikes can be with the size up to few meters. The dimension of the grikes can be displayed with the surround photo.
