| The interior of the building reveals
material and spiritual culture of Istra, Brkini, Čičarija and the Upper
Karst from the 17th century onwards. Here a number of diversely structured
settlements in the typical stone cultural landscape and some special architectural
features are also displayed. The stone articles as used at home and at
work as well as the skilfully hewn architectural details and individual
sculptures have all come from a stonecutting workshop. A special place
was allotted to the middle-class kitchen typical of the Mediterranean region.
In the inner courtyard, some articles made of limestone and flysch are
exhibited, while smith's-cartwright's workshop is presented in the ceiled
shed.
In 1983, the building was reconstructed by the Regional Institute for the Conservation of Natural and Cultural Heritage Piran. Author of the exhibition: Zvona Ciglič |
