2. The prehistoric and Roman settlement
on Gradič Hill had been built on a rocky promontory above the valley. The
coins, statuettes and other items found there date it into the time
from the 2nd century B.C. to the 4th century A.D. The investigated burial
ground by the So;a with its 1405 graves shows the size and sigificance
of the settlement. The remains of a prehistoric fort and the Antiguity
settlement are still visible nowdays. Unortunately, the major part of the
remains were destroyed during the construction of the Charnel House in
the past.
3. The Charnel House was built
on Gradič Hill, with the existing church of St. Antony as its center. Along
the road which leads up to the Charnel House, the Stations of the Cross
were erected. |
