Velika planina
is a karst plateau on the south side
of the central part of Kamnik Alps. There are many karst features including natural sights as Mala and Velika Vetrnica which are a sink hole and a shaft nearby the highest summit of the plateau. Architectural characteristic are chalets
with the oval roofs which are streching to the ground. The plateau is easy
accessed from Kamnik direction via 'St. Primus' or with the cable lift from Kamniška
Bistrica. Velika planina is a touristic and ski
centre during the winter. (
