Amboise is one of the towns of the Val de Loire region with
the most ancient history because of its especial geographic location at
Loire River. Amboise is one of the first settlements at Loire river. The
Loire River was easier to be crossed here than on other places. The town
is also the Royal town - here standst one of the biggest royal castles.
In 1516, Francois I. invited Leonardo de Vinci here and he lived
in the Clos-Luce until his death in 1519.
The town has about 12,000 inhabitanst today and has a charming atmosphere. |
