The Bled castle stands on a rock about 100 m above the lake. There is a great view to the town, lake and countryside. A Romanesque tower stood in the place of the present castle in 1004. Parts of the castle were added the period of 800 years. The most interesting is
the chapel
, which was consecrated to the Bishop St. Albumin and St. Ingenious The castle is arranged as a museum. There is also large collection of armour and weapons from the 16th the 18th centuries. Interesting is also a jewellery some interesting carvings. |
