Slovenske Konjice is the administrative and economic center of the upper Dravinja valley. The place is known for its very well-preserved medieval core. The medieval core of the settlement is Stari trg, which stretches for 300 m along a wider road with one-storey market houses. A drainage channel runs through the middle of the square, along which a stream flows. West of the town, on Konjiška gora, stand the remains of the Old Castle. In the immediate vicinity, north-east is the Zlati grič wine-growing area. |
