The Parish church of St. Elizabeth stands in the old nucleus of Slovenj Gradec. The construction of the originally Romanesque church dates back to the 13th century (ECCLESIA EXTRUCTA 1251).
The parish church was consecrated in 1251 to St. Elizabeth. In the early 15th century, the church was remodeled in the Gothic style. Today, the interior of the church is furnished in the Baroque style, featuring rich ornamentation and historic altars.
Nearby the church stands the Hospital Church of the Holy Spirit from the 15th century, which forms an essential part of the town's medieval heritage.
