Klavžarica brook has its name by the "*klavže", which is
a dam used to retain water for the trunks into the riverbed. Klavže is
an unique technical monument. Such a dams were built around the 1770. Klavze
on the Klavzarica was built by the French in the time of the Illyrian Provinces
(1813). Natural and historical features
are coincided on this place! All the riverbed is acctually a chain of many
waterfalls (more than 10) with the height up to 7 m (~23 feet). Klavzarica
brook flows in a more than 50 m (~ 170 feet) high waterfall before the
entrance into the gulch of Reven.
ACCESS: Spodnja Idrija - Srednja
Kanomlja. From Srednja Kanomlja is a left turn to Vojsko plateau. After
1 km is anoter left turn to the Reven farm (there is no signpost!). From
the Reven farm is a rut to the klavze. After the bridge (klavze) is a turn
to right and the upper waterfalls. From the Reven farm and the bottom of
the upper waterfalls is for a 1300 m of walk. |
