Kamnik-Savinja Alps

Orličje: waterfall Orglice

Description & Geography

The waterfall Orličje (also known as Orglice) lies in the canopy of the picturesque valley of the Kamniška Bela stream. Situated at an altitude of 790 m, it falls along a gentle rock crevice that plunges into a nearby rock wall into a small pool.

Combined with a small jump at the top, which falls into a fissure invisible from below, the total height is approximately 40 m. The watercourse is torrential; in dry months, the riverbed is empty, leaving only damp walls.

Above the waterfall is the Kamendol area. Few people know that 350 m higher in the off-road terrain lies the 50 m high two-stage Waterfall Nad Kamendolom. Large fallen blocks from below Zeleniške špice serve as a reminder of the terrain's instability.
