Waterfalls of Slovenia

Bojanca Waterfall

Description

The highland of Bohor is quite off the beaten tracks. A hike to this unspoiled country is a true joy and a peaceful withdrawal from fretful civilization. Beside the beautiful hilly landscape, there are mysterious waterfalls, especially on the south side of Bohor. Although the water flow is not always strong, it is permanent and in perfect harmony with nature.

Access

From Sevnica or Krško travel to the settlement of Blanca. Follow the asphalt road along the bank of the Blanščica brook. Near Gornji Leskovec, look for a small wooden sign before the Požun farmhouse that directs you into the ravine of Stranjski potok.

The path crosses the brook several times. Near the end, some climbing is required along a 5 m high waterfall where iron steps have been installed to make access easier.

After passing smaller cascades, the ravine narrows into a kettle-shaped end. Here, the magnificent Bojanca waterfall (15 m ~ 45 ft) awaits as a reward for your efforts.
