Description
Waterfalls of Blanščica are the most dramatic ones in the area of the Bohor highland. The chain of upper waterfalls has carved a water channel into the dolomite bedrock. The total height of this multi-stage waterfall is at least 50 m (~164 ft).
The highest single stage is the Pekel waterfall (17 m / 56 ft), which means "Infernal". Traditionally, the beautiful waterfalls hidden above it are referred to as Nebesa (Heaven).
Access
From Sevnica or Krško travel to the settlement of Blanca. Follow the asphalt road along the bank of the Blanščica brook toward Gornji Leskovec.
From the farm, a track leads into the ravine. After 20 minutes of walking, you reach the Pekel waterfall. A very steep path leads to the upper stages; it is recommended only for experienced hikers with appropriate footwear.
