Polhov Gradec (~397 m) is the central
settlement of Polhograjsko hribovje and the upper valley of Gradascica. The settlement is situated at the bottom of the rising of Stari Grad
(460 m). Down the valley, just nearby the settlement is the confluence
of two brooks: Božna (Velika voda) and Mala voda into new river Gradaščica.
The parish church is the most remarkable building of the settlement.
The church was built in the 18th century in the place
of the previous older church. Behind the rising of Stari Grad stands the
Manor House of Polhov Gradec with the park. |
