Biba planina is a beautiful alpine pasture located on the Menina planina karst plateau. Historically, Menina planina was the second-largest grazing area in Slovenia, just after Velika planina.
Today, Biba planina remains an active hub for traditional pastoralism. During the summer months, sheep, cows, and horses graze across its prostrate landscapes, maintaining the centuries-old tradition of alpine farming.
The mountain hut at Biba planina (Koča na Bibi planini) is a popular starting point for hikers. An easy and scenic footpath leads from here to the main hut, Dom na Menini planini (located 3 km to the northwest). This trail passes the unique Biba Lake, which is protected as a natural monument.
