Matkov Kot is a 5 km long alpine glacial valley in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The valley runs in a south-easterly direction from the gabled part, which ends at Mrzla Gora (2203 m n.v.) towards the Karavanke, which ends the valley in the northeast. The valley runs parallel to Logarska dolina, which lies to the east. In the gabled part of the valley is a fickle waterfall, Matkov škaf, which is watery in spring and until the beginning of summer, when it is fed by snow. Numerous waterfalls with waterfalls and jumps run along the slopes of the western mountain ridge, which surrounds the valley from Krnička gora (2064 m n.v.) in the south, Matkova krnica and towards Jerebičje (1762 m n.v.) in the north. Water from Matkov kot collects in the lower part of the valley from under a gravelly, dry torrent bed that flows through the entire valley and torrential tributaries on the left, west side of the valley. The water collected here springs as the Jezera stream, which is the headwaters of the longest, all-Slovenian Savinja river. The natural attraction of the valley is in the gabled part, in addition to Matko's cupboard, also Matko's window, which is accessible from the Logarska valley from the direction of Brložniške waterfalls. As in Jezersko, where there was a lake in the Middle Ages, there was probably a smaller glacial lake in the lower part of Matkov kot, to which the name of the stream "Jezera" reminds us today.
