Javorniška planina (also known as Planina Zajavornik), situated at 1,300 m above sea level, is one of the most picturesque areas on the Pokljuka plateau in the Julian Alps. The mountain is characterized by its authentic wooden shepherd's huts and stables.
During the summer months, cattle graze on the mountain pastures, preserving the traditional alpine dairy heritage. In the winter season, the area transforms into a popular destination for cross-country skiing, featuring well-maintained trails.
Access to the mountain is possible by road from Mrzli Studenec or Rudno polje, or via a forest path starting from the Šport Hotel in Pokljuka.
