Nova Gorica developed after 1947 when Gorica (Gorizia) was given to Italy. (Nova = New). The town has no old architecture heritage but on the southern side of town is Kostanjevica monastery where is a tomb of French rulers Bourbons. Northern of Nova Gorica is situated more than one thousand years old Solkan settlement and a hill Sveta gora. |
