The stream Sjavnica is drawn only on rare maps, and no name can be found on any of them. The stream is a left tributary of the Sevnica stream, which is a left tributary of the Idrijca near Rijeka. The local name for the Sevnica stream and the Sevnica homesteads (Prva Sjavnca. SrednjaSjavnca and Zadnji Sjavnca) probably derives from the dialect name Sjavnca. The most famous waterfall on the stream is the lower waterfall, which was interesting for archaeologists during the archeological excavations at Divje babe. During the Second World War, there was also a party school in the immediate vicinity, which was tracked down by the German army and burned down the barracks, and at the same time burned the village of Šebrelje. The waterfall flows like a 'horse's tail' over a 28 m high overhanging wall, under which is a small cave. The waterfall is little known to hikers, but it is all the more familiar to ice climbers, as the stream freezes in winter and the wall becomes an ice climbing area. The stream in the upper part of the waterfall flows along a narrow gutter and falls like a 'horse's tail' on a rock, where it disperses into a 'fan'. Due to the overhanging wall, it is possible to walk behind the waterfall. Beneath the waterfall are beautifully visible rock falls that resemble boulders. ACCESS: From the road Idrija - Most na Soči near the area of Stopnik over the bridge that leads over Idrijca, along the asphalt serpentine road to Šebrelj. In Šebrelj towards Gorenja vas. From the last houses of Gorenje vas, after 240 m, just before the sharp bend, there is a left section on a macadam path that leads down towards the homestead of Srednja Sjavnec (marked Sevnica on the maps). Just on a sharp bend is another section of macadam road to the left, which is not the right one. The path to Srednja Sjavnca leads in the length of 1400 m along a rather narrow road, which is in a steep slope and in the event of a meeting of two vehicles can be quite an unpleasant situation. Therefore, it is recommended to leave the vehicle in Šebrelj. At the Srednja Sjavnec homestead, you can follow the heavily overgrown cart track, or descend into the ravine by the stream. After only 200 m there is an 18 m high upper waterfall that falls into a narrow ravine. Along 300 paths downstream there is a forest, behind which after 70 m there is a precipice wall along which the lower, 28 m high waterfall falls. The entire trail from Šebrelje to the lower waterfall and back takes 2.5 hours.
levi pritok Idrijce blizu Reke. Krajevno ime za potok Sevnica in domačije
Sevnica (Prva Sjavnca. SrednjaSjavnca in Zadnja Sjavnca) verjetno izhaja
plezalcem, saj potok pozimi zamrzne in stena postane ledno plezališče.
sprehoditi izza slapa. Pod slapom so lepo vidni skalni podori, ki so podobni
balvanom.
DOSTOP:
cesti do Šebrelja.
28 m visok slap. Celotna pod od Šebrelja do spodnjega slapa
in nazaj traja 2,5 ure.
