Waterfalls of Slovenia (1993-1998)

Smec Brook - Jurezev Slap

Description

Kranjska Gora is a premier touristic destination, famous as a popular ski center in winter and a challenge for mountaineers in summer. While the Julian Alps nearby host many famous falls, the opposite side — the Karavanke Alps — hides the highest waterfall in this range.

Jurezev slap (on the Smec brook) is a massive system consisting of seven smaller stages that form a single cascading waterfall with a total height of 100 meters. It is not a typical tourist attraction; the path is unmarked and difficult to access. However, the hike offers a unique and breathtaking view of the Julian Alps across the valley.

ADVISORY: The path is not marked and involves steep terrain. Alpine boots are highly recommended. It is not a standard family excursion route.
