Ptonc Brook

Ptonc brook is the left tributary of the Ribnica brook. It flows in a somehow boring ravine. Although there are about 10 waterfalls only the second one is truly worth visiting. The combination of reddish rocks and the white water stream creates a surprisingly beautiful scene.

The second waterfall is 10 m (33 ft) high and falls as a narrow stream into a shallow pool. Below it slides the first waterfall, which is about 7 m high. Further upstream, at least eight more indistinct waterfalls follow, each about 5 m high.

ACCESS:

From Srednja vas, take the road towards the Ribnica waterfalls. At the end of the village, where the brooks Ribnica and Ptonc meet, follow the concrete stairs above the stream. A well-trodden trail leads to the second waterfall. Access to the upper waterfalls is difficult and recommended only for experienced hikers due to the slippery and steep terrain.
