"Nurmi" (the buffalo) is one of the most successful Hungarian locomotive designs for main lines and personifies the specific Hungarian style. Continuously modernised she remained in production from 1924 until 1958. Nearly 60 served as class 11 on the JŽ-lines. In Slovenia they were used only exceptionally, ie the first special locomotives of the Tito's Blue Train until 1957, when they were replaced by the Krauss-Maffei dieselhydraulic engines. The other two Tito's locomotives are also preserved: the 11-015 in Zagreb and the 11-022 in Belgrade. |
