In 1984, chiefly in honour of mountaineers, the museum collection "Triglav" was opened in the former inn known as "Jozel" in Mostrana. On three floors is the documented and materially displayed history of mountaineering in Slovenia: the first people to climb Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain peak; the founding of and working of the first Slovenian Mountaineering Organisations; the construction of Alpine huts; the tourist club "Skala"; the work of mountain rescuers; and the renowned priest of Triglav, Jakob Aljaž. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the representation of Triglav National Park. |
