Moravče is a settlement and municipal center in the Moravška valley. The settlement was mentioned in written sources as a parish in the early 13th century. Today, the old round urban arrangement around the parish church of St. Martin is preserved. The place became a square in the 19th century, and in 1995 a municipal center.

The European footpath E6 leads through Moravče, coming from the direction of Trojane and Limbarska gora, and then continues over the top of Sv. Miklavž into the Sava valley. An important historical figure associated with the town is the mathematician Baron Jurij Vega, who attended school in Moravče, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of science and education.

The settlement maintains a picturesque character with its cultural heritage and proximity to various hiking trails, making it a central point for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers in the heart of Slovenia.
