Mariborski otok is a unique natural river island on the Drava River, located approximately 2.5 km north-west of the city center of Maribor.
The island was formed by river deposits behind former rapids. Today, it is protected as a natural monument due to its significant geomorphological and botanical value, hosting a diverse range of bird species and lush vegetation, including numerous tree and shrub species.
