Štajerska Rinka (2374 m) is a peak in the Rinka ridge rising above the upper part of Logarska dolina. Together with Koroška, Kranjska, and Mala Rinka, it forms a characteristic high‑mountain relief above Okrešelj, where steep north faces rise above a glacially shaped valley. The peak lies on the watershed between the Savinja and Carinthian regions and represents an important point in the central Kamnik–Savinja Alps.

Geographical setting

Štajerska Rinka is located:

  • above Logarska dolina to the north,

  • above the high‑mountain plateau of Mali podi to the south,

  • between Koroška Rinka to the west and Mala Rinka to the east,

  • in an area where routes from Jezersko, Logarska dolina, and Kamniška Bistrica meet.

From the summit, one can observe:

  • the north faces above Logarska dolina,

  • the ridge toward Turska gora and Brana,

  • the southern slopes toward Skuta and Grintovec,

  • the ridge toward Ledinski vrh and Jezersko.

Geomorphology

The peak is composed of Triassic limestone, which forms:

  • a steep north face with gullies and ledges,

  • a broken ridge connecting the summit with Mala and Koroška Rinka,

  • karst features on the southern side, including karren and fissures,

  • scree terraces and gullies shaped by freeze‑thaw weathering.

The northern side is predominantly vertical, while the southern side is more open but remains demanding due to scree and rocky steps.
