Detailed description:
The twelfth stage begins at the Tolmin Museum on Mestni trg in Tolmin. At the monument of the Great Tolmin Punt (1713), turn left onto a path through a small park, and descend under the building of the Tolmin Mountaineering Community and the street-stairs Pod brajdo to Ulica padlih borcev. At the roundabout, on our left is the Hofer shopping center, turn right onto Tigers Square and past the Eurospin shopping center, and then through the park to the left you come to a sports park (football field and 'go kard' driveway). We walk on an opaque asphalt road without curbs, so caution is needed. Yellow signposts direct us to the right to a private macadam road towards the Tolmin Sports Kennel Club (550 m). To the right is the Kozlov rob hill (426 m), to the left is a meadow that serves as a landing place for paragliders.
In front of the barracks of the Kennel Club, the path starts from the macadam road to the meadow path, which leads along the edge of the meadow to a pole with signposts at the edge of the meadow. The signposts lead us to the right to Kozlov rob (40 min.) And down (15 min.). Follow the Juliana Trail signpost to the left (direction Kobarid). The meadow path leads us to the macadam road Tolmin-Dovje. After two kilometers, in dry weather of a dusty macadam path, we reach the left bank of the Soča and the Gabrje camp. From the Gabrje camp, a cart track leads above the left bank of the Soča, which after 500 m and an additional 500 m rises sharply to the right to the local asphalt road Gabrje - Volarje. After 1.5 km of asphalt road without curbs, we reach the settlement of Volarje. The asphalt road is not busy, but care is needed as there is not much room for pedestrians to retreat to vehicles due to road fences. Follow the signposts and continue through the settlement of Volarje and then again along the asphalt road towards the settlement of Selišče. After 400 m, an asphalt road leads us past the worm of St. Brica, where you can rest on the meadow next to the church. The asphalt road leads on to the settlement of Seliše and on past the cemetery and the former military cemetery from the First World War to the settlement of Kamno. In the village of Kamno it is more difficult to follow the signpost, but if you continue along the main road through the village past the primary school to the road sign Vrsno / Krn and past the chapel continue right to the signposts Julane Trail, which at the end of the village direct us to the left cart track. After 400 m, the cart track turns into a narrow path fenced with stones, which leads in the direction of the settlement of Smast. After eight hundred meters, the path again turns into a cart track, which turns into a narrow macadam road to the intersection with a narrow asphalt road below the church of Sv. Lawrence. After a good kilometer we come to the settlement of Smast and then through the settlement along a relatively busy asphalt road without curbs and a poorer pedestrian possibility of retreating by vehicles. (Careful!). Care must be taken to walk properly on the left edge of the road, as there is a possibility of collision between cyclists and other vehicles. An idyllic, panoramic asphalt road leads us to the settlement of Ladra after 900 m. The 2 km long road from Ladra leads us to the left birch of the Soča and the Napoleon Bridge. The road is extremely opaque and busy, so extreme caution is needed, especially at the Napoleon Bridge, as there is very little space for the minds of traffic (!). |
