Cahors

Cahors is the capital of the Lot department in south-western France. The town is situated on the bank of meander of the Lot River. The symbol of the town is the Pont Valentré which is a six-span fortified stone arch bridge built in 14th century. Building began in 1308 and was completed in 1378. The bridge is crossing the Lot River on the west side of Cahors. Cahors is on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compositela Via Pokiness which starts in Le Puy-en-Velay.
