The Scandola Nature Reserve is a World heritage site inscripted to Unesco World heritage list in 1983. The nature reserve is part of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica and occupies the coastline and the area of the Scanodla Peninsula which is  geologically porphyritic rock mass between the Golfe de Galeria and Golfe de  Girolata.
