Barcaggio is a small fishermen’s village on the northernmost side of Cape Corse. A 1.5 km out to sea is small island of La Giraglia, with its mediaeval Genoese watchtower and 19th light house, which use to be one of the most important Mediterranean lighthouses. The light was visible 40 miles away. East from the settlement is a 1 km long beach which a popular summer destination.
